Characteristics and applications CV Series cooling towers are counter flow forced draught coolers, modular type, with centrifugal fans and standard manufacturing. They are suitable for cooling installations located in places where a low noise level must be maintained, mainly air conditioning systems in hotels, hospitals, airports, office buildings and residential areas, complying with health and safety regulations. With these cooling towers it is possible to cool water flows till 700m³/h, in a reduced space and with an aesthetic appearance, due to their low height and modular conception. As they are made of FRP, maintenance is negligible. Due to their reduced dimensions and weights they can be installed on roofs and platforms as is usual for air conditioning installations. > Next section General description Cooling towers of this series consist of: - Casing and water collection basin - Water distribution system - Filling - Drift eliminator - Mechanical air blowing equipment Casing and water collection basin The casing and water collection basin are integrated in one single piece, manufactured in FRP, which is fixed to a bedframe of hot dip galvanized steel profiles, for supporting and anchoring the tower. The basin is equipped with connections for: - Cold water outlet - Overflow - Drainage - Make-up water with floating valve - Connections to maintain equal water level (when modules are installed together) - Biocide dosage - Heater to prevent freezing (this element is optional) The casing is provided with access for inspection and maintenance operations. Hot water inlet to the water distribution system is fitted in the upper part of the tower. Water distribution system Consist of hot dip galvanized steel pipework in which low pressure static plastic nozzles, designed with a wide passage, thus avoiding any possibility of clogging and easy maintenance, are fitted. Filling The filling is highly efficient film or laminar type, with a high contact surface area by volume and 24 mm minimum flute. Drift eliminator Highly efficient, it reduces considerably the carryover of droplets. Mechanical air blowing equipment It is formed by high efficiency centrifugal fans of low peripheral speed, perfectly balanced, ensuring low noise and manufactured in galvanized steel (optionally epoxy coated). The fans are driven by belts using totally enclosed self-ventilated electric motors (one for each fan), fitted on easy to handle tightener bases to allow perfect alignment and tightening of belts. The motor-fan unit is protected with a dismountable FRP housing, acoustically isolated, equipped with a wide removable door for mechanical equipment maintenance. > Next section Lifting and movement CV Series towers are equipped with four wire ropes for movement, which are fixed to the tower bedframe. A timber frame is placed on top to minimize stress in the FRP casing during movements. Both wire ropes and timber frames should be removed after installation. > Next section Transport With a width of 2.19 m and height of 2.17 m, transport is possible in conventional type trucks without any difficulty. > Next section Installation and erection These towers are supplied in modules, fully assembled. Final installation requires only the anchoring of the tower and connection of motor and piping.
